BEVERN TRUST
WHO WE ARE and WHAT WE DO

The Bevern Trust is a Sussex disability charity, based in Barcombe, which runs Bevern View, a home for eleven young adults with profound and complex disabilities such as cerebral palsy, Rett Syndrome and degenerative
neurological conditions.

Our resident’s disabilities are so complex they need 24-hour care.  Bevern View is a purpose built home equipped for the nine residents who are fully wheelchair bound and two residents
who have some limited mobility.

The Bevern Trust ensures that people with profound disabilities can live truly active and fulfilling lives, in an environment where they can feel safe, are loved, and are offered compassionate care.

Celebrating the Magic of Christmas with The Bevern Trust

As we step into the festive season keep an eye on our website to share in the joy that our Christmas activities bring. From carol singing on the streets of Lewes to the thrill of picking out Christmas trees. Our residents will have the chance to explore twinkling Christmas markets, take part in immersive and interactive festive activities right here at home as well as witnessing the magical lights of Glow Wild. Outings to local pantomimes and holiday concerts will add a special sparkle, making this season a cracker!

Join in spreading festive cheer and support us by purchasing raffle tickets for a chance to win a magnificent festive Christmas Hamper, filled with delicious treats, generously donated by our Bevern View parents.
Tickets are on sale until
23rd December from our website or by visiting Bevern View.

Have you thought about sending eCards instead of traditional paper cards for Christmas this year? Visit our website to find how to save money, time and paper, whilst raising funds for the Bevern Trust at the same time!

And finally, we warmly invite everyone to join us for an afternoon of Carol Singing, accompanied by a fantastic brass band! We'll be outside the Royal Oak pub in Barcombe on Friday 20th December at 4pm, followed by a celebratory drink inside. We look forward to seeing you there!

Why Sports Matter for
Profoundly Disabled People

For most of us, playing sports is a normal part of life. It's a chance to challenge ourselves physically, experience the thrill of competition, or simply enjoy the camaraderie of being part of a team. But for people with profound disabilities, these opportunities can often feel out of reach.

At The Bevern Trust, we work hard at breaking down those barriers. We're passionate about ensuring that our residents can participate in the everyday, normal activities that many of us take for granted. This includes the chance to participate in sporting activities and be part of the local community.

Thanks to the generosity of organisations like Sport England and local clubs such as the Lewes Rotary, we can provide a variety of sports experiences for our residents. From slalom skiing like JP to horse riding, and even roller skating, we open doors to a world of possibilities. Watching sports (like wrestling or cheering on a football team) also creates excitement and has a profound impact on confidence and wellbeing.

By supporting The Bevern Trust, you're helping us break down barriers and show that profoundly disabled people can experience the joy and benefits of sports. Imagine the smile on Ciaron's face as he speeds around the track, or the thrill Jonathan and Amy feel sailing across the water. These experiences matter
